We offer glass railings, which provide a clear, unobstructed view and beautifully accent your balcony or deck. Precision constructed handrails deliver the strength you need and the beauty you want for the finishing touch. Glass railing systems are created for use with ½" or ¾" tempered glass panels as structural balusters. Our suggestion for cleaning glass is with mild soap and water. Rinse completely with clear water and dry with a soft cloth. Ammonia, petroleum-based cleaners or harsh chemicals, sharp edges like razor blades, and abrasive pads may damage your glass or mirrors. To clean the screens, use mild soap, water, and a sponge or soft brush.
When purchasing windows, ask about Solar Heat Gain Coefficient. The lower the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, the less heat producing radiation is transmitted through the glass. Remember, lower numbers are better which means less heat and lower electric bills.
While window film does a tremendous job in reducing the amount of harmful UV Rays and solar heat, it will not completely eliminate the deteriorating effects of the sun, especially over a long period of time. Low Emissivity (Low-E) glass is recommended. This is a coating done at the glass manufacturing proess.
Many companies claim that security window film will protect glass from such extreme forces such as natural disasters and even bullets. The tests conducted often times use 1/2" glass and multilayers of security film, both of which are not used in realistic situations. Also, to say something is "hurriane proof" is misleading. Hurrianes in the past have leveled buildings.
